The following are horse in the personal collection of Black Horse Ranch and are for reference use only.

This company was founded in the 1940s by Oscars Mortens, who had just moved to the United States from Sweden. His partner was Gunnar Thelin, and together they produced figurines of dogs, cats, wild animals, and of course, horses. The figurines were made out of a plaster like material over a metal frame. Morten Studios has been out of production for many years; most pieces are marked with either an ink stamp or a paper label. They are also marked Royal Design. The finish is an enamel like finish and is prone to cracks and chips. Humidity effects the cracking as well, so damage is common on all pieces.
