Three of the pieces I purchased directly from Mr. Eustis and had custom painted, as were all of his sculptures. They are a mixture of latex and porcelain clay (filler). They are
not considered a resin, and not a ceramic, since not fired. They do have some "give" to them, and so are fairly sturdy, however, I noticed that when I lived in So. Cal. the smog
did start to deteriorate them and had some cracks starting, esp. around the fetlocks. I have lots of brochures on them, and you can see more of his sculptures, which were amazing...
at the Model Horse Gallery, under Eustis. My letters from Mr. Eustis and orderforms were dated 1977, and back then, the horses were priced a bit steep for most model horse
collectors...$175-350. Most were in editions of 50-75, and the only edition I know that was sold out was the trotting Arabian.

I showed mine for years both photo and live as Paid In Full

I had to have a dark grey one as well... named Double Vision

This is the Showman...a trotting Percheron that was one of his later sculptures, and a very successful model horse horse. These horses are finished in oil paints.
