Welcome to the BHR Weanling page.
New for 2006, is our first made in house ceramic sculpture, the Weanling. Previously run in resin as part of the BHR Collection line of polyresin horses, this mold was quickly sold out in that media, within the first year of production. It is such a popular model that we re-ran it as a colt model on unpainted resins produced for us by Randy Buckler, with re-inforced legs, and in a limited number. Always a favorite with the collectors, this weanling filly was sculpted by Sue Sifton for us in 1992. It has also been run in lost wax bronze, and also in lost wax bronze trophies as awards donated by BHR to the winners of the Appaloosa Horse Club's Limited Halter Futurities for 3 years straight. While we made the sculpture available to the masses at very reasonable prices (hence, the sell out so quickly), my passion lies in the ceramic horse. Thanks to the hard work of Joan Berkwitz of Pour Horse Studios, we are now ready to lauch the next generation of the Weanling.
The sculpture is a portrait of our 1991 mare, Night Vision. Night Vision was 1991 World Champion Weanling Filly, along with her dam, Night Deck. A rare occurrence that a mother and daughter both win at the same show. Night Vision went on to produce the multiple World and Nat'l Champions Night With Andrew, The Visionary, Black As Night, Tribute To Andrew, The Quest, and Andrews Last Vision. For producing 5 or more different World and Nat'l Champions in 2005, she will automatically be inducted into the ApHC Hall of Fame. Her dam and sire (Dreamfinder) are already in the Hall of Fame, as will be her full brother, Recurring Dream.
Truly an exceptional mare, who went on to be even more famous after she was made a model horse.

At this time, I am still refining my technique for casting this horse. I intend to keep the first ones cast. Once ready to sell, I will be offering any available models to previous 2004 & 2005 eBay customers FIRST. Price will be determined at a later date. We also have nearing completion, a BRAND NEW sculpture never before run in any other medium. Scpecially designed for our new ceramic line, we will post photos when available.Distribution and sales will also be the same as the weanling, along with 2006 customers.
